German striker Dennis Siver (20-8 MMA, 9-5 UFC) will look to remain undefeated at 145 pounds when he takes on Eddie Yagin (16-5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) at UFC 151.
Swedish website MMAnytt.com first reported the new booking, which MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) subsequently confirmed with sources close to the matchup.
Featuring a headliner between UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones and top contender Dan Henderson, UFC 151 takes place Sept. 1 in Las Vegas. Sin City's Mandalay Bay Events Center is expected to play host.
The positioning of the Siver vs. Yagin matchup on the evening's lineup was not revealed.
Siver fights for just the second time at featherweight. The former lightweight contender, who put together a solid 7-2 155-pound run during his second octagon stint, dropped to 145 pounds earlier this year, downing perennial contender Diego Nunes via unanimous decision in April. The victory erased the sting of a first-round submission loss to Donald Cerrone at this past October's UFC 137 event and brought Siver's record up to 5-1 in his past six overall fights.
Meanwhile, Yagin looks to build on the biggest win of his career after earning a split-decision win over Mark Hominick at this past April's UFC 145 event. The hard-fought, bloody matchup earned the pair the evening's "Fight of the Night" bonus and served as Yagin's first octagon victory after falling short in his octagon debut against Junior Assuncao.
